Naija In Lights

Founded by the CFI, this six month course was designed to support the next generation of photojournalists in Nigeria. During the first workshop, courses focused on technique, as well as the history of African photography, ethics and visual literacy. Participants developed personal projects around national unity and the 2023 elections with the supervision of professional coaches for a period of five months. During the second workshop, participants learnt how to pitch their stories to editors, put on an exhibition, speak confidently in public and present their work to a wider audience. 

The workshop support 10 young professionals under the age of 35 and each participant was selected following a rigorous screening process.
